So I saw Mike! He and I went to visit his old host family, the Smith's (who are just wonderful people!!) in Michigan. By this time, we hadn't seen each other for about 2.5months and had been very busy: I had put on about 4,000 miles on the car on my stateside journey and Mike had finished school, taken his tests, started support raising and planned his youth group summer program. Yet as we arrived in Michigan, it felt as if God gave us a vacation: we couldn't get internet and my phone just happened not to work. Yet while we were there we were able to have some time to reconnect with one another, with his old host family, and have a Sabbath time with God. We also did some work, Mike spoke very well at two different churches!
Then on June 29th, we traveled to Oregon where Mike met the rest of my family and was challenged to a 5K by my brother Tom, whereas both finished withing 50 seconds of one another! Soon we are off the coast with my parents, my brothers their wives and their two children. It will be a great adventure
